League Business:
- Automatic game suspension with writing up from Umpires: rule voted on and changed. League rules from now on (including this coming playoffs) will now state that any player written up is not automatically suspended, pending league executive review. Wayne and Bryce will review any written up incidents, and decide within 24 hours. If a player is from either Wayne or Bryce’s team, that individual will step aside and another league rep will step in for decision. In a very serious offence (more than 1 game), all league executive will vote on punishment.
- Travis Campbell is suspended from participating in the All-Star Tournament next season, and cannot be picked up for provincals by any team in the league if his current team is not participating next season.
- Cubs/Expos: present to Jack that umpire crew has thrown out 3 players in the last 2 games. Other teams present the same complaint (that 2 umpires in particular are baiting players, making challenging comments, giving the “finger” to a team at the end of the game) The BSAABL is making the official stand that this is unacceptable, and Jack as umpire in chief must deal with these officials, or they will face suspension from officiating our league in the future.
Meeting adjourned.
